However, we understand that to be a successful business, you need to keep your website spic and span, your socials up to date, and your clients engaged. So, we’ve put together a few tips for marrying the physical with the digital.

Analyse, analyse, analyse
There’s not much point in having social media analytics on hand if you aren’t going to use them to inform how you run your business. Establish an online audience for your brand through savvy digital marketing and SEO practices. Then, use their engagement with your online content to inform the printed content that you put out.
Maybe you’re looking for inspiration for a printed brochure. You can use social media to trial styles and designs to see which ones gather the most interest or engagement.
Similarly, you may need blog topics for a magazine – with a little bit of analysing, this information should be available to you through social media.
If you’re struggling to build an online audience, maybe it’s time to go old-school. Emblazoning your printed marketing materials with your social media usernames and hashtags is akin to writing your phone number on the bathroom wall in sharpie – everyone is going to see it.
If you really want to bridge the gap between print and digital, go one step further and make your printed materials interactive. QR codes, apps that make 2D imagery turn 3D, and special links to one-off discounts or content are all great ways to grab the attention of your audience.
There’s nothing better than finding that your work has been showcased in a magazine, or used as a reference in someone else’s printed materials. If your brand ‘makes the cut’ and is featured in a print magazine or publication, you’ve got every right to shout about it!
In such an oversaturated market, customers sometimes find it difficult to work out who to trust. After all, print can be expensive and nobody wants to overpay a company that ends up under delivering. Being featured in a print-focused publication will increase your company’s credibility, giving you an opportunity to – in the humblest way possible – brag about it.
Snap a photograph of your feature or take a team photo holding the publication, and post it on social media. You can also use social media to showcase products you’re particularly proud of. Tag the accounts of those involved in the process for maximum exposure to the audiences of your competitors, clients, and suppliers.
