NPS completes Inflatable 5K!

The Northern Print Solutions team recently took part in an Inflatable 5K run at Newcastle Racecourse. We posted about it a while back, so if you keep up with our blogs you’ll know why!

This year, we’re supporting Cash for Kids – a network of 22 charities spread across the UK. Their mission is to “respond to the needs of children in our communities, and we aspire to enable all children to live life to the full and achieve their individual potential.”

Local stations Metro Radio and Magic 1152 have partnered with Cash for Kids to bring better financial support to the thousands of children across the North East who may be suffering abuse or neglect, be disabled and have special needs, or who are in need of extra care and guidance.

As part of our mission to raise £2,000 for Cash for Kids this year, we decided to ask for sponsorship to take part in the Inflatable 5k!

What was it like?
Kay, Natalie, Craig, Sue, Annabel, Allyson, Paul, and Alex C formed our formidable team, and preparation was taken extremely seriously (as evidenced by the amount of bait we scranned before the race!)

Everyone was feeling sick, nervous, and fat before we got started; which wasn’t helped by the relatively early start (seriously, who wants to start running at 10:30am on a Saturday morning?) It was a fantastic experience, and we even bumped into a few peers, including Caroline Ginnane from Utilita Arena, who was supporting her netball team from the side-lines as she is pregnant.

Despite the length of the course, the day was a massive success, with the girls all belly laughed out by the end. The guys stayed true to form and remained cool as, not even one bead of sweat dripped off them! We finished with a celebratory drink at the Border Minstral pub and left at around 12:30.

It was so much fun, we all wanted to do it again. So, we’re going to be taking part in the Colour Obstacle Rush 5k, happening on 15 June. So far, we’ve raised £300 of our £2,000 target for Cash for Kids.

How can I get involved?
So, if you want to get involved and sponsor Craig, Kay, Natalie, Steve, Alex C, Allyson, Diane, Alex L, Sue, or Anthony for the Colour Obstacle Rush 5k, we encourage you to head over to our JustGiving page. There, you can leave a donation of your choice and track our progress.

Cash for Kids is a charity that’s very close to our hearts, so if you want to find out more about how you can help us reach our target or you want to speak to a member of the team, get in touch with us using the contact form below.
