Northern Print Solutions turns their office into an elf workshop
Durham based company Big Little Toys is set to have their most successful year yet this Christmas and Northern Print Solutions is helping with the expanse.
Sarah Greenwell, 34, created Big Little Toys in 2015 when she launched ‘an Elf for Christmas.’ In its first year of trading, 3,000 units were sold, in 2016 this increased to 30,000 units with secured shelf space in Selfridges, John Lewis, Waterstones, a range of independent toy stores and website sales. The figure is set to rise again this year.
Last year in the run up to Chrsitmas , the Elf advent letters featured on This Morning with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as part of a section on the best advent calendars to buy this year. On looking at the letters, Phil said:
“This is lovely enough to be a bed time story, you could read that before you go to bed every night.”
Sarah brought in Northern Print Solutions to help with the printing of the products, such as the personalised elf books, letters, reward cards, certificates and other merchandise. On their working relationship, Sarah said:
“I was looking for a reliable partner to help me meet the demand for our latest product and I knew Northern Print Solutions would be able to help me. After speaking to Beth and Craig we made a plan to deliver even more magic than ever before this Christmas!”
‘An Elf for Christmas’ now trades in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and is planning on expanded to the United Arab Emirates, the United States and main land Europe once the products have been translated.
The company has been endorsed by multiple bloggers nationwide, such as Life According to Mrs Shilts and is also recognised by Toy Shop UK in the Children’s Gift Category 2016. In October, ‘an Elf for Christmas’ was selected to be in the Top 10 Indy Advent Calendars for Children and featured on This Morning as part of their piece on advent calendars.
When you order an Elf, it is delivered to your home or school on the 1st of December. With the elf, you also receive a behaviour chart, stickers, report cards, two ‘nice’ list certificates and two blank letters to send to Santa. There is also a sealed letter for every day leading up to Christmas Eve. This Christmas, a new book has been launched which will feature any given name.
